Hi, I'm Coach Michaela Sandlin! Through 9 seasons of volleyball in high school and college club, I have played every position on the court competitively. (My favorite is setter, just like my mom!) I am passionate about volleyball, and I truly love working with people. Since graduating from Winthrop with my Masters' degree in 2020, I have been teaching middle school Spanish at York Preparatory Academy.
I started coaching volleyball at YPA in 2021: I spent a year as Varsity assistant coach, 3 years as MS head coach, and am now in my 2nd year as Varsity head coach. While I didn't want to leave the MS team, I am proud to be building a unified MS to Varsity volleyball program at YPA.
On the side, I have a small knit/crocheting business called Michaela Made Knits, so you can almost always find me with a craft and an audiobook. My husband and I love to read, to learn, and to travel! While you probably won't catch him around the volleyball court, know that he and our 2 dogs are cheering us on from home!
