Coach
I am Coach J.R. Harrison, a dedicated volleyball coach and strength and conditioning specialist with a strong foundation in collegiate athletics and academic achievement. I began my athletic career at Juniata College, where I competed in both baseball and football while earning Landmark Conference Honor Roll recognition three times. I continued my baseball career at West Liberty University, where I was a two-time All-MEC Academic honoree. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Juniata College and a Master’s degree in Business Administration in Healthcare from West Liberty University. Currently, I serve as the Varsity and JV Assistant Volleyball Coach at Mount de Sales Academy, where I work closely with the varsity setters to develop skill, improve decision-making, and enhance game management, while also overseeing the program’s strength and conditioning with a focus on performance and overall athletic development. My coaching philosophy is built on attention to detail, discipline, and a commitment to doing the work others often overlook, believing success comes from consistency, accountability, and embracing the “gritty” aspects of training and competition. Our program lives by the motto “One Team, One Goal,” and we strive to play with purpose in everything we do.
